So, you clicked the, "About Me," button.
Come and grab a seat. I have a novel to share with you.
I am a born and raised Minnesotan that grew up singing karaoke and eating lumpia. All while being somewhat timid when I first meet someone.
You can thank my Filipino mother and Scandinivian father for some of my tendencies. Or even my two older sisters. Or my aunt and grandma that I lived with until I left for college- the first time. Awks.
I started at school at St. Cloud State University, starting as a student pursuing goals of being a math teacher, then nurse, then goals of becoming a pastor. Then I transferred to Augsurg University- then college- to pursue their Youth and Family Ministry Degree. From a child, I've always known I was meant to serve others. That brought me through a number of churches in Minnesota and Montana.
Serving others has continued as I started nursing school at Minneapolis Community and Technical College in the middle of a global pandemic.
You may wonder, "Jon, how do you stay sane?"
I don't always know how to answer that.
I do know that the closer I am to myself. Being present with the divine within myself. Through authenticity. Being queer. Being Filipino. Beinng Midwestern. Being a resident of Powdehorn.
I hope to meet you, in your present self.
